Tyra Banks Named New Host Of ‘America’s Got Talent’—See Tweet

American Television personality Tyra Banks has been named the new host of ‘America’s Got Talent.’

Canadian comedian Howie Mandel, who serves as one of the show’s judges, made the announcement on Sunday via Twitter.



Since 2009, Banks replaces rapper Nick Cannon, who has served as host of ‘America’s Got Talent’. Last month Nick Cannon announced that he was leaving the show after a falling out with the network over a joke told on a Showtime comedy special. Report—aoi.


Nick Cannon told an ethnically charged joke employing ‘NBC’ as an acronym absorbing a racial scandal. Cannon claimed in a Facebook post that NBC executives threatened to abort him over the joke.


Nick Cannon wrote ‘After days of deliberating over some highly disappointing news that, because of a comedy special I was being threatened with termination by Executives that was only deliberated to bring communities closer together and I was to be punished for a joke.’




This month, ‘America’s Got Talent’ season 12 is set to begin filming along with judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Mel B. Cowell who also serves as an executive producer and last season they joined the judging panel.
